scince i had gotten into a little progaming before i started this class, it was really easy and i finished it with ease. I think that is was an exellent class. the only thing i thought was wrong was that it didnt go into depth a whole lot. (i think you should explain about sprites) other than that, i liked the class, thanks to all who made it and i hope to take more classes in computer graphics.

Thanks for the feedback!

We want everyone to be able to create digital art, and in this case video games, so these courses are introductory and don't require any previous experience.

We always look for feedback on what courses students might like to see in addition to our current 4 video game design courses. So keep your comments coming.

I have completed VGD101v2 and i thought it was very well made. It was easy to folow and the software is so easy to use that i completed the course in only 5 days. The only problem is that one step was skiped in which the maggots (big eye) were added.

I've finished and I LOVED it!!! One thing you could add is like put music into the game (I'm just messing with it right now, should figure it out soon). Other than that GREAT course!!! Thanks!
Re: "I've Finished VGD101v2"
by The YDACS - Tuesday, 27 March 2007, 09:45 AM

We are planning another video game design course that teaches how to incorporate "original" music created using the MadPlayer from our LTMT101 course and original paintings and images from our DP101 course. You can also use any other "original" music or images, i.e. stuff you create, because you created it. You can't legally use music from a CD or major artists because they created it. All of our courses teach you how to create your own original art, combine it together, and share it or sell it.

Let us know what you figure out in the meantime.

Thanks!

I like this program very much it is fun and really! easy to use. I wish it was more complicated and more capable but this works, it took me four hours to complete.

We love to hear that you like the program very much!

Have you ever done any programming before? You are the fastest to ever finish the course. Please remember that this is intended as a "first" course in video game design that teaches students how to immediately create their own video games so it is introductory. Then there are:
  • VGD102v2 builds a more complex platform video game
  • VGD103 teaches animation so you can design and create your own video game characters that are imported into your game
  • LTMT101 teaches how to create your own music immediately that can then be used to score your video game
  • DP101 teaches how to create digital paintings that can be imported into your video game
Add all this to Multimedia Fusion being used by lots of professional independent and casual video game developers and you can take it as far as you like!

We are also about to announce a competition for students to submit their video games for our upcoming Youth Video Game Design e-Conference, in about one month. Two video games will be selected, the selected students will receive $50 and will present their game during the e-Conference.

Thanks!

NO I have never done any programming before this course I did not know anything about video game programming I guess it really is "immediately". I am however a computer genius and I have taken a couple college courses on computers but I have never done any programming before.

You should check out the Glossary. There are lots of screen images and explanations that you can print out to remind you of key concepts. You are enrolled until 4/24 and are also now enrolled in VGD102v2 because that is how your school set it up.

Thanks!

I finished VGD101v2 today. Thank you for the great class. I thought the best part was that I could watch what you did as you did it in MMF. I'm gonna practice making games then I'll be back for class 2.

Hi, I just finished VGD101v2 and I enjoyed all of the lessons very much. I did run into several bugs but I managed to get them out. I look forward to making more games using MultiMedia Fusion 2.

I also wanted to know if there was a certain type of disc I needed to save my games on to?

Re: "I've Finished VGD101v2"
by The YDACS - Sunday, 19 August 2007, 10:23 AM

Hi Beck,

If you complete the quizzes we can send a Certificate of Completion.

You can save your game to any kind of disk; cd, hard drive, usb...

Thx!
